Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy has lost his primary after President Trump endorsed another Republican, and now a Colorado ally has been threatened with similar treatment. In a pair of Truth Social posts on Saturday, Trump ripped Rep. Lauren Boebert as "weak-minded" for campaigning in Kentucky with Rep. Thomas Massie—whom Trump branded "the Worst 'Republican' Congressman in the History of our Country"—and mused about yanking his endorsement in Colorado's 4th District if "the right person" emerged. That's largely a hypothetical, the Hill reports: Boebert is unopposed in the June 30 GOP primary after switching to the safely Republican eastern Colorado seat to avoid a bruising rematch in her old district.
Boebert and Trump have been at odds for months over matters including her criticism of his veto of a Colorado water project and her work with Massie on a bipartisan push to force the release of Jeffrey Epstein-related files. Boebert brushed off Trump's broadside, saying she's "not mad or offended" and insisting she remains "America First" and "MAGA" in a post on X. "I knew the risks when I agreed to stand by "my friend Thomas Massie," she wrote, per Reuters. Trump is backing Massie's primary challenger, Ed Gallrein, a Navy SEAL veteran.
