In Bangladesh, a 1,500-pound albino buffalo whose blond forelock earned it the nickname "Donald Trump" just dodged a trip to the slaughterhouse. The animal, bought for sacrifice during the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha, went viral after photos circulated of its swept-over hair, drawing crowds to farmer Ziauddin Mridha's property near Dhaka. That amount of attention prompted government intervention, and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed ordered the beast spared, according to Reuters.
"At the last moment, the decision was taken to spare the buffalo from sacrifice due to security concerns and the unusual level of public interest," said a ministry official. The would-be buyer will get a refund, and the buffalo is now headed to the national zoo in the capital instead, reports NBC News. Mridha said his younger brother chose the name out of "affection and fondness" for the animal, which he described as unusually docile and in need of constant care. It's not the first Trump doppelganger in the animal kingdom: past lookalikes have included a golden pheasant in China and a frogfish in England.
