The FBI's famous Most Wanted list just got a white-collar cousin. Federal officials on Thursday rolled out a new "Most Wanted Fraudsters" list, spotlighting eight fugitives accused of stealing tens of millions—and in one case billions—through sweeping fraud schemes. Fox News reports FBI Director Kash Patel said the idea, credited to Vice President JD Vance, is to give high-impact fraudsters the same public exposure long reserved for violent criminals.
The list, now live on the FBI's website, is part of a wider Justice Department push against health-care fraud, government program abuse, and consumer scams. Officials say the public-facing roster is meant to help track down top suspects and to signal that financial deception, not just violent crime, is now a marquee federal target. In a post on X, the FBI explains that "anyone with information about the whereabouts of these fugitives can submit tips at tips.fbi.gov, by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI, or by contacting the nearest FBI field office."
