Ariana Grande wants the Trump administration to hit "stop" on her tunes. People reports that the 32-year-old singer slammed a TikTok released on Tuesday by the White House that used her song "Bye" over footage of immigration arrests. Grande wrote in the comments to that post: "Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. fck ice." The track has since been muted on the post.
Grande is the latest pop star objecting to similar ICE-themed videos. Sabrina Carpenter, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, and Kenny Loggins have all publicly slammed their songs being used in clips released by the government promoting immigration crackdowns or mocking protesters, accusing the administration of using their work to push an agenda they reject. In response to Grande's criticism, a White House spokesperson replied, per Reuters: "What's actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens."
