Rescue crews in Venezuela have pulled off a rare success story days after deadly twin earthquakes hit the country. A 21-year-old man, Aaron Levi Cantillo Vargas, was found alive after roughly 106 hours trapped under debris in the coastal town of Caraballeda, reports the BBC. Teams from Venezuela, Mexico, and El Salvador worked for about 43 hours to free him, El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele said. He noted the effort was complicated by a body lying between Cantillo and rescuers. Cantillo is now receiving specialized medical care, and Bukele said rescue teams are still searching. The rescue came as hope of finding survivors was waning, and NPR reports that teams were combing the rubble with a simple plea: "We are the rescue team. If you are alive, please make any noise."
