Karoline Leavitt says her own generation has it too easy—and that it's showing up at the ballot box. The White House press secretary appeared on Fox News' Jesse Watters Primetime on Thursday, where she criticized Gen Z and younger Americans as having "silver spoons in their mouths" and accused them of "laziness" that keeps them from thriving at work, reports Mediaite. Her comments came during a segment on recent victories by left-leaning Democratic candidates in New York primaries, wins that have energized younger voters and prompted President Trump to warn, "The communists are finally making their move."
Watters framed young voters as "kids" in their 20s who have "never had real jobs" and complain about high prices, then asked Leavitt if those grievances are resonating. Leavitt said they are, blaming both "laziness" and "liberal indoctrination" in schools. She praised a rise in homeschooling, private schools, and Christian education among parents who, she said, want to avoid "communist and liberal ideas" in classrooms. Leavitt tied that trend to Trump's push for school choice and said children should be taught to "love our country," which she called "the greatest country in the history of the world." Leavitt, at 28 the youngest person to ever serve as press secretary, recently returned from maternity leave, notes ABC News.
