Emergency responders were sent to Mitch McConnell's Louisville home last month for an apparent cardiac arrest involving an unconscious person, CBS News reports. A June 14 EMS dispatch recording describes CPR underway and a "cardiac arrest" at the senator's address shortly before 9am, though McConnell's name is never used and the patient's identity remains unconfirmed. The same morning, his office said the 84-year-old Republican was hospitalized and "receiving excellent care," without explaining why or where.

A day later, a spokesperson said McConnell was fully involved in Senate work; GOP Sen. John Thune said he spoke with him that day and that McConnell "sounded good." It's not clear whether the former majority leader remains hospitalized, TMZ reports. The report remains unconfirmed, but per the New York Post, McConnell lost consciousness at home and may have suffered a heart attack. McConnell, a polio survivor, has had multiple health incidents in recent years, including falls, a concussion, and a February hospitalization for "flu-like symptoms." He is not running for re-election this year.
