Australian Tourist Vanishes in Las Vegas

An overseas vacation to Las Vegas has turned into a missing-person mystery for a 26-year-old tourist from Australia. Authorities say Sally Grace Contarino of Melbourne hasn't been heard from in three weeks, after telling a friend on June 20 that she was heading out for a hike, reports Fox News. She had flown from Melbourne on June 13 and confirmed to a family member on June 18 that she'd checked into a downtown Las Vegas hotel, KLAS reports

She was last seen on June 20 at an address on West Skye Canyon Drive, in northwest Las Vegas, the New York Post reports. Police say she was due to fly home to Melbourne the next day but never boarded the flight. After relatives in Australia filed a missing-person report, the Australian Consulate in Los Angeles alerted Las Vegas police.

In an alert on social media, local nonprofit Red Rock Search & Rescue said Contarino is "5'5, 130 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She may possibly be in severe emotional distress and in need of medical assistance." The group urged anyone with information to contact Las Vegas Metro Police. Relatives, including Contarino's sister, have flown in from Australia to search for her, KLAS reports.
