Rocker, Wife Divorce After He Came Out as Gay

Caleb Shomo's personal life is undergoing as big a reset as his music career. The Beartooth singer has filed to end his 14-year marriage to wife Fleur following his public announcement that he is gay. Court records filed July 13 in Los Angeles show the couple, who wed in 2012 and share no children, agreed to dissolve the marriage, reports USA Today. Shomo, 33, came out in a May 23 Instagram post, calling himself "a proudly gay man" and writing that he had spent a long time working through what that meant.

Fleur Shomo addressed his revelation the same day, describing the period as "very disorienting and hurtful" for them both but saying she still wants to "love, protect and support" him. "To see the confusion and pain he went through and the highs and lows and wanting to help but not knowing how," she said, per EW. "You never want anything more for your person than for them to just be ok."

On the "Disrespectfully" podcast in June, Caleb Shomo described struggling to tell her, recalling breaking down as he tried to explain that he'd never let himself explore his feelings for men. He said reaction from fans since has been mixed. Caleb Shomo, who formed metalcore band Beartooth in 2012, is set to release the group's sixth studio album, Pure Ecstasy, in August.
