Cher Horowitz is returning, and she's still low on clues. Paramount+ has ordered a sequel series to 1995's Clueless, with Alicia Silverstone returning as Cher—now a successful business owner and mother of a teenage daughter about to start high school, Deadline. The show, set in the present day, picks up roughly 30 years after the film.
- "She's successful in business and has mastered motherhood—that is, until her daughter's high school years, and Cher finds that parenting a teenager makes her feel 'clueless' all over again," the show's logline says.
The series, like the movie, will film on location in Los Angeles and is executive produced by Silverstone, original director Amy Heckerling, and producer Robert Lawrence, per the Hollywood Reporter. Production is set to begin next year, though no casting apart from Silverstone has been announced, USA Today reports. Writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (The OC, Gossip Girl) are steering the project for CBS Studios. The revival, previously in development at Peacock, joins a growing Paramount+ slate that includes projects starring Kenneth Branagh, Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, and Jeremy Strong.
