General Mills Recalls Frozen Rolls in 19 States

Glass may be an unwanted extra in hundreds of thousands of Pillsbury rolls. Parade reports that General Mills is recalling more than 735,000 frozen bread rolls over fears they may contain glass fragments, per a notice from the Food and Drug Administration. The voluntary recall covers Pillsbury Bread Rolls "Hard Roll Dough" (about 554,400 rolls) and "Kaiser Roll Dough" (about 181,440 rolls), sold in bulk cases and distributed in 19 states, including California, Florida, Texas, New York, and Washington.

The items appear aimed at food-service customers rather than grocery shoppers, with the company marketing them for "back of house" use. Businesses with the affected UPCs are advised not to serve, sell, or donate the rolls, and to discard them or return them for a refund or replacement. "Out of an abundance of caution, in mid-June, we issued a voluntary recall of two frozen dough products baked onsite and sold exclusively at Walmart in-store bakeries in the United States," a General Mills spokesman tells People.
