Stubborn Toddler Forces Cancellation of Flight

A toddler's refusal to sit down and buckle up ended up grounding an entire plane in Victoria, British Columbia. Porter Airlines says a Thursday night flight to Toronto had already left the gate and was taxiing when crew saw a young child standing on their seat. Efforts by both the parent and staff to buckle the child in failed, the airline told CTV News.

Regulations barred takeoff in that situation, so the pilot had to return to the terminal and have the family disembark, per People. By the time everything got sorted out, it was past Victoria International Airport's 12:30am runway cutoff, meaning the plane could not take off and all the passengers had to stay in Victoria and rebook.
