The sky over President Trump's "Patriot Games" youth sports event in Ohio briefly turned dramatic on Tuesday. NORAD says fighter jets intercepted a small civilian plane that wandered into restricted airspace above the event in Geneva, northeast of Cleveland, forcing the jets to fire off warning flares and escort the aircraft away, the New York Times reports. The airspace violation was at least the fourth involving Trump in recent days. NORAD says three other planes strayed into the no-fly zone near Trump's Bedminster, NJ, golf club on Sunday, with earlier incidents there in July also prompting jet intercepts and, in some cases, flares.

  • The Patriot Games, organized by the White House-backed Freedom 250 group, featured one boy and one girl selected from every state, with all participants between the ages of 14 and 17. Freedom 250 said "submissions were compiled into a composite score, blending athletic performance data with the strength of each applicant's essay and video," the Washington Post reports. The event wasn't heavily promoted outside Freedom 250 channels.
  • After three days of contests including obstacle courses, tug-of-war, and dodgeball, Kennadi Fuhrman of Kansas won the female division and Rockwell Myers of Utah won the male division, per ESPN. They each received a $125,000 scholarship check. The Post reports that they both thanked Trump, who appeared on stage but didn't speak to the winners. He spent less than 90 minutes at the event.
