In Alaska's Senate race, the Dan Sullivan backing Dan Sullivan is not the one on the ballot. As NBC News reports, Dan A. Sullivan, a Republican and former Anchorage mayor, has publicly urged voters to support GOP Sen. Dan S. Sullivan over Democratic ex-Rep. Mary Peltola and retired teacher Dan J. Sullivan. "As the OG Dan Sullivan, I urge Alaskans to vote for Sen. Dan S. Sullivan. He's been great for Alaska," the former mayor wrote on Facebook.

The three-way Sullivan tangle comes in one of the cycle's most closely watched contests, rated a toss-up by the Cook Political Report, notes the Hill. Peltola leads with 48% to Dan S. Sullivan's 43% in the still-not-final all-party primary, which uses ranked-choice voting. Dan J. Sullivan, running as a Republican, has 2.4% and remains on the ballot after Alaska's high court reversed his disqualification, even as prosecutors probe whether his candidacy is part of a scheme to confuse voters. The Hill notes that Dan J. Sullivan has said he's voted for Peltola twice before.
