The Labor Department's latest 10-year jobs forecast has a clear loser: word processors and typists. And a clear winner: nurse practitioners. The agency's report attempts to factor in how AI and other forms of technology will upend the workforce over the next decade, reports CBS News. Here are the occupations projected to see the biggest drops and the biggest gains by percentage:

Biggest drops

  1. Word processors and typists, down 34.4%
  2. Telephone operators, 27.6%
  3. Switchboard operators, including answering service, 26%
  4. Data entry keyers, 25.5%
  5. Foundry mold and coremakers, 23%
  6. Patternmakers, metal and plastic, 22.8%
  7. Telemarketers, 21.4%
  8. Grinding and polishing workers, 19.2%
  9. Roof bolters, mining, 18.9%
  10. Cutters and trimmers, hand, 18.9%

Biggest gains

  1. Nurse practitioners, up 41%
  2. Solar photovoltaic installers, 37%
  3. Data scientists, 35%
  4. Wind turbine service technicians, 30%
  5. Medical and health services managers, 24%
  6. Physical therapist assistants, 23%
  7. Psychiatric technicians, 22%
  8. Computer and information research scientists, 22%
  9. Occupational therapy assistants, 21%
  10. Ophthalmic medical technicians, 21%
