The "cat burglar" cops found in a Washington state home last week didn't bother with a mask—just tufted ears and a bobbed tail. Kirkland police say a Moss Bay resident called 911 after hearing alarming crashes upstairs, prompting Officer Brian Farman to head in and find the "suspect" perched at the top of the stairs, per the Seattle Times. It turned out to be a full-grown bobcat that likely climbed a tree and slipped through an open window, possibly lured by the homeowner's cat.
Officers deployed a drone inside the house to track the animal's movements from a safe distance, then shut it in a room until state wildlife officials arrived. The bobcat was tranquilized and released near Forbes Creek, considered suitable habitat, Fox News reports. The resident's cat, the officers, and the unwitting intruder all walked away uninjured.
