The Asian Games made an international faux pas before the start of a field hockey game between South Korea and Bangladesh: Organizers played the national anthem for North Korea instead of South Korea by mistake, reports the BBC. The South Korean players stood on the field listening, looking some combination of confused and bemused, per AFP. After the anthem finished, the Bangladeshi anthem played, and then the correct Korean anthem followed, along with an apology on the PA system.

"This is something that simply should never happen," said South Korea coach Min Tae-seok. South Korea's Yonhap news agency aptly described it as an "awkward mishap," notes the AP. One silver lining for the South: They won the game 5-0.
