Dead Tot's Dad: I Looked Up Ways Kids Die in Hot Cars

The father who left his toddler inside a hot car for seven-plus hours has confirmed to police that he did Internet research on the very manner in which his son died. "During an interview with (Justin "Ross" Harris), he stated that he recently researched, through the internet, child deaths inside vehicles and what temperature it needs to be for that to occur," reads a search warrant obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. His reason: "Justin stated that he was fearful that this could happen." CNN notes that mom Leanna Harris has also told police she did similar research.

Meanwhile, services were held yesterday for 22-month-old Cooper Harris, and Leanna Harris spoke publicly for the first time since the toddler's June 18 death, adds the Journal-Constitution. "Ross was and is a wonderful father," she told mourners, as her husband listened via phone from jail. "(Cooper) never did anything to anyone," said Ross Harris, adding, "I’m just sorry I can’t be there."
