UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento has died at age 34 after what the organization described as a suspected heart attack while he slept. The Brazilian fighter was found unresponsive on Monday and declared dead at the scene, despite attempts by medical personnel, the UFC said in a statement that offered condolences to his family, friends, and teammates, per NBC News. Nascimento, a 5-foot-8, 125-pound contender, compiled a 22-7 professional record in a career that began in 2011.

Nascimento made his UFC debut in 2021, per CBS Sports. His most recent fight came on June 20 in Las Vegas, where he dropped a split decision to Mitch Raposo. The UFC called him a "beloved flyweight fighter," though the Toronto Sun notes that the organization's CEO, Dana White, is facing some heat now for making an online post on Instagram shortly after sharing news of Nascimento's death, showing himself smoking a cigar and proclaiming in the caption "Great day!!," along with a smiley emoji.
