Frankie Muniz's now-deleted "fun" divorce video is still making waves—and his estranged wife is stepping in to bat for him, People reports. After the former Malcolm in the Middle star announced on Instagram that he and Paige Price Muniz are ending their 10-year relationship, criticism quickly focused on the upbeat tone of their first post, which showed the pair dancing with their 5-year-old son to We the Kings' "Check Yes, Juliet." Muniz pulled the clip, then reshared the news in a more straightforward post. (See BuzzFeed for an example of the criticism of the original post.)
"Frankie, I am so sorry that you felt the need to delete an old fun video of our family because people are so cruel to you," Price Muniz wrote in the comments on the second post. While "it's not like we're excited about" divorcing, she wrote, "we're two adults who know how to be on the same team. I can't believe people could scrutinize that." On her own Instagram Stories, she called the internet "a scary place." The couple, who met in 2016, married three years later, and share son Mauz, emphasized they see their future as close friends and co-parents and asked for privacy as they move forward.
Muniz, 40, noted that Price Muniz, 33, has always been his "biggest supporter," E! News reports. "She put her own dreams on hold so I could chase mine. ... That foundation of respect and friendship isn't going anywhere."
