Spotify isn't just streaming your books anymore—it can now help put them on your shelf. The company has rolled out a feature in the US and UK that lets users buy physical books from within the audiobook section of its app, part of a tie-up with Bookshop.org, which funnels sales through independent bookstores. On audiobook pages, a "Get a copy for your bookshelf" button sends users to Bookshop's site, which handles pricing, stock, and shipping. The option—live on Android now, with iOS support due next week, per TechCrunch—folds into Spotify's broader push to become a full-service book platform as it raises subscription prices and touts 751 million monthly users.
Spotify also expanded several book-focused tools first previewed in February. Its Page Match feature, which lets listeners scan a page from a physical or e-book and jump to the matching spot in the audiobook, now works in 30 languages, per Mashable. Since the English-language launch in February, Spotify has seen Page Match users listen to 55% more audiobook hours weekly compared to other listeners. One new feature available on Android: Audiobook Recaps, short catch-up summaries keyed to where a listener left off. Meanwhile, Audiobook Charts, highlighting what's trending, have expanded to Germany after earlier launches in the US and UK.
