Sharon Osbourne's reported plans to show up at a rally led by far-right figure Tommy Robinson have cost her a charity gig. UK homelessness nonprofit Centrepoint says it will no longer work with the 73-year-old TV personality after her official Instagram account commented "See you at the march" on a post promoting Robinson's "Unite the Kingdom" event in London, per the Guardian. Centrepoint, whose patron is the Prince of Wales, said the rally "does not align with our values" and stressed it supports young people "whatever their background, ethnicity, or religion."
The group clarified that while Osbourne, the widow of late rocker Ozzy Osbourne, recently fronted an Omaze campaign for the charity and was labeled an ambassador for that effort, she was never a long-term official ambassador and "we have no plans to work together in the future." Robinson, a prominent figure on the far right whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has publicly welcomed Osbourne's support for the May 16 rally. A "Unite the Kingdom" protest in September drew between 110,000 and 150,000 people, per the Independent. The Mirror, which notes that Osbourne has previously engaged with anti-immigrant campaigns online, has more on Robinson's past run-ins with the law.
