ICE is reportedly involved in another fatal shooting, this time in Maine, reports the Bangor Daily News. Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau wrote on Facebook that the incident took place in Biddeford Monday morning, though details were scant. "A person was killed. ICE was involved. State Police and the Department of Public Safety are now on scene to gather details and would expect the FBI to investigate as well," he wrote. The Maine Wire confirms it was an "ICE involved incident." One neighbor tells WMUR she was awakened at 8am by gunfire before law enforcement swarmed the area.

The reported death comes days after a Mexican immigrant was fatally shot by ICE agents in Houston. Maine earlier this year saw an influx of ICE personnel under Operation Catch of the Day, a federal initiative that was scaled back after nationwide criticism of the agency's tactics following the fatal shootings of two protesters in Minneapolis.
