The Republican congressman lost his primary Tuesday to Ryan Elijah, a former local Fox anchor, as Mills confronted assault accusations, a restraining order obtained by an ex-girlfriend, and an ongoing House Ethics Committee probe into alleged sexual misconduct and dating violence, all of which he denies. The intraparty fight in Florida's right-leaning 7th District split GOP allies: Trump endorsed Mills in February, while Reps. Anna Paulina Luna and Mike Haridopolos lined up behind Elijah and urged new leadership.
