Bret Michaels' comeback lasted one night. The 63-year-old Poison frontman has canceled all remaining 2026 shows after doctors ruled he needs months more to recover from recent kidney stone surgeries, reports People. Michaels performed Friday in Sugar Hill, Ga., his first show back after multiple postponements, but his team said medical staff quickly decided he wasn't ready to resume touring. "We will be pulling Bret off the road for the time being," Michaels' doctors said in a statement, per Fox News, so that he can rest, citing summer heat and its impact on his blood sugar.
"He wanted to attempt this show, but we feel there is a much-needed period of rest and slow recovery ahead," the statement continued. Michaels has Type 1 diabetes, which they said complicates healing and raises his infection risk. His company apologized to fans and promoters and said they're now focused on getting him "healthy, strong and ready to rock."
