Howard Stern Has a New Video Deal

Howard Stern, who calls himself the "King of All Media," has a new video deal. His long-running SiriusXM program is headed to HBO Max, which will roll out filmed versions of The Howard Stern Show every Thursday starting Sept. 17, Deadline reports. The TV-style episodes will be stitched together from Stern's live Monday broadcasts on SiriusXM's Howard 100 channel, as the show trims its schedule from two live episodes a week to one.

HBO's Casey Bloys called Stern a media trailblazer, while Stern said HBO Max persuaded him to "pull back the curtain" on guests, staff, and on-air sidekick Robin Quivers. Extras will drop periodically, and Howard 100 will add a beefed-up Wrap Up Wednesday hosted by Gary Dell'Abate and Jon Hein. In December, Stern signed a new three-year deal with SiriusXM following months of cancellation and retirement rumors, the Hollywood Reporter notes. He pranked viewers last September, pretending Andy Cohen was taking over the show.
