The bright blue dancer that vanished from outside the Kennedy Center has a new home lined up. Billionaire philanthropist David Rubenstein has bought "Blue," the 24-foot abstract Joel Shapiro sculpture removed from the center's Reach campus last week, and plans to place it in the National Gallery of Art's Sculpture Garden, the New York Times reports. The price was said to be more than $2 million. Rubenstein leads the National Gallery's board and until early this year chaired the Kennedy Center's board; he was pushed out during President Trump's takeover of the institution. After its removal, the sculpture reverted to the late artist's foundation, run by his daughter Ivy Shapiro, which then sold it to Rubenstein. There's no date yet for the installation at the National Gallery.
