A day meant for exploring nature turned tragic for an Iowa elementary school. Authorities say fifth-grade teacher Hannah Jorgensen, 24, and 10-year-old student Ahmed Osman of Borlaug Elementary School in Coralville died during a field trip on Tuesday to the MacBride Nature Recreation Area, near the Coralville Reservoir. Deputies received a call around noon of two people in the water near the reservoir's spillway, reports ABC News. Jorgensen's body was recovered Tuesday, and Ahmed's on Wednesday, according to a news release from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. Authorities are still investigating how the incident, which happened during a "School of the Wild" field trip, unfolded, per People.
