The White House hasn't formally announced it, but a slew of outlets say President Trump has picked his new press secretary: Katie Zacharia, a familiar face in conservative media as a commentator. The New York Times, CNN, and NBC News are among those reporting that Zacharia will replace Karoline Leavitt, who left in August. Zacharia is an attorney who currently serves as a communications adviser to Trump Media and Technology Group, which operates Truth Social, per Axios. She also briefly worked as a spokeswoman for then-Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem.
The New York Post reports that Zacharia, a mother of four, also is affiliated with Fix California, an organization pushing a conservative agenda in the state. The group was founded by Trump special envoy Ric Grenell, and the Post sees a potential for internal White House friction because Grenell is not a fan of White House chief of staff Susie Wiles.
