A cruise through the Ionian Sea turned into a prolonged search-and-rescue off Greece, where a 44-year-old Salvadoran passenger spent about 20 hours in the water before being pulled out alive, authorities say. The woman allegedly jumped from Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas early Friday as it sailed southwest of Zakynthos, reports CBS News. Greek officials say she later told rescuers she leaped because "she wanted to disembark."

Two coastguard vessels, a navy helicopter, nearby ships, and the cruise liner itself joined the search after an alert went out. A passing freighter eventually spotted the woman in a life ring early Saturday, reports USA Today; video released by the coastguard shows her being hauled aboard in the dark. She was taken to a hospital in Pyrgos for medical checks and a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation.
