Royal watchers tuning into Graham Norton on Friday night got an unannounced extra guest on the red sofa: Prince William, who highlighted the appearance on Instagram. As People reports, the 44-year-old Prince of Wales joined Cate Blanchett, Hannah Waddingham, Robert Irwin, and singer Jorja Smith for a special edition centered on William's environmental initiative, the Earthshot Prize. William explained he created the awards in 2020 to counter grim climate narratives with "urgency and optimism," and said the initiative aims to scale up effective environmental solutions.
"There are some amazing people out there doing things to protect the world," William said. "We could really highlight what is being done and scale them to the next level to have more impact around the world." He also plugged his new Children's Earthshot in India, which just named 15 finalists aged 9 to 17. Off-duty, William revealed he and his kids are hooked on BBC's The Celebrity Traitors, and that he unwinds with films—especially the "psychologically dark and deep" Dark Knight trilogy and "everything Christopher Nolan does."
