A weekend flight over Colorado's high country ended in tragedy for a New Castle family. Authorities say a small single-engine Piper PA-28 went down Saturday morning in a remote section of the West Elk Wilderness in Gunnison National Forest, killing all three people on board. The victims were identified as Mark Hendrickson, 46, and his sons Alan, 15, and Case, 13, reports the Colorado Sun. A relative confirmed on Facebook that the three were father and sons; they are survived by wife and mother Jenni and another son, Coen, notes People. The Gunnison County Sheriff's Office first got word of a possible crash shortly after 9am; federal officials say the plane went down about an hour earlier. The National Transportation Safety Board and US Forest Service are investigating.
