President Trump's decision to skip a Kansas campaign stop turned into a tense exchange with a Reuters White House correspondent on Thursday. After stepping off of Air Force One, Trump was asked by Jacob Bogage if he'd canceled the weekend rally because he was "sick of traveling," per Mediaite. The president appeared to interpret the question as implying he was physically ill. Trump repeatedly called Bogage "sick" and "disgusting," criticized his appearance, and labeled Reuters "terrible."
"Look at this guy. He's way out of shape," Trump said, while he himself "was visibly drenched with sweat," notes HuffPost. He added to the journalist, "Put yourself in shape. You look like hell!" Bogage responded that he was simply trying to confirm Trump was "doing well." Trump then explained he wasn't going to Kansas because he believed the situation there was "doing very well" and that he didn't feel he had to make the trip, adding that he felt "perfect" and would be campaigning in Florida instead. The Wrap, meanwhile, lists some of the (mostly women) reporters Trump has taken to haranguing in his second term.
