Kanye West just lost the chance to perform on another European stage. A Polish stadium says it's scrapping the rapper's June 19 show, days after he postponed a concert in France and amid mounting backlash over his past antisemitic remarks and praise of Nazism, per Reuters. The Silesian Stadium in Chorzow noted on Facebook that the performance "will not take place due to formal and legal reasons," without elaborating, per Reuters. Polish authorities had already indicated they'd try to block the event. The nation's culture minister said on Thursday that, in a country marked by the Holocaust, "we cannot pretend that this is just entertainment."
She added on X that the planned concert was "unacceptable," per Billboard. The move follows Britain's recent decision to bar the 48-year-old, now known as Ye, from entering to headline a festival, and Australia's refusal to admit him last year after he promoted Nazism and sold swastika-themed merchandise, per Reuters. Ye, who in January apologized and blamed his past behavior on untreated bipolar disorder, hasn't commented on the Poland decision. He has performed in the US and Mexico this year and still has shows on the books in Europe and Asia.
