A central Florida city is searching for answers after a quadruple killing took out three generations of one family before dawn Sunday. Police in Plant City say a 4-month-old baby, a 4-year-old child, their 28-year-old mother, and their 55-year-old grandmother were fatally shot at two homes less than a mile apart, per Fox News. Officers first found the children and their mother on a residential street; the children died at the scene and the woman later at a hospital. A third child was found unharmed. Investigators then tied the case to a second address, where the woman's mother was discovered dead from a gunshot wound.

Detectives believe at least one person traveled on foot between the two homes in the early hours of Sunday and are combing the area for surveillance video, especially any showing a woman walking with three children. A neighbor told WTVT that police had responded to a domestic dispute at the family's home two days earlier and also described seeing a man with a large duffel bag putting on a bulletproof vest the night before the shootings. Other neighbors described hearing gunshots and "little girls screaming" around 3:45am Sunday, per WTSP. Authorities have not released the victims' names, identified a suspect, or announced a motive, and are asking anyone with information to contact Plant City police.
