2 Arrested in Killing of SNL Writer's Sister

Two arrests have been made in a case that began with a missing-person report and has now turned into a homicide investigation. Los Angeles police say they've taken into custody 41-year-old Delorean Bijon Brandon, the boyfriend of Christina Downer, and 34-year-old Kaylee Nicole Markowski, reports Variety. Detectives believe the pair killed Downer, then hid her body and tried to cover up the crime. Downer, sister of Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie, was reported missing after a Dec. 18 welfare check; Brandon allegedly told officers she'd moved out, leaving behind her car and dog.

The case intensified after her phone washed up on a Santa Monica beach and led investigators to search an Airbnb in Joshua Tree. Fowlie said in April that his sister was dead and that her phone and social media accounts had been hijacked to create a false "off the grid" story.
