Josh Jacobs' offseason just took a serious turn, ESPN reports. The Green Bay Packers running back was arrested Tuesday in Wisconsin on multiple domestic violence-related charges, including a felony count of strangulation and suffocation, according to the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department and Brown County jail records. The 28-year-old is also facing four misdemeanor counts tied to battery, criminal damage to property, domestic abuse, disorderly conduct, and intimidation of a victim, and was being held without bond.
Police say they responded to a disturbance involving Jacobs on Saturday at 8:37am, and called the case "active and ongoing," declining further comment. Jacobs, a former All-Pro who joined Green Bay before the 2024 season, is pushing back through his attorneys, who say he "vehemently denies the allegations" and urged "fairness and restraint" as the investigation unfolds. The Packers and NFL both said they're aware of the situation but are not commenting further while it plays out. Green Bay opened OTAs on Tuesday, with coach Matt LaFleur set to speak to reporters Wednesday. Jacobs was previously with the Raiders, Sports Illustrated reports. USA Today runs down who could replace him on the Packers' roster here.
