A Georgia dad who built a large following online for his family-centered comedy says he's now living through what he calls his worst nightmare. Per NBC News, parenting influencer Jamal Morton—also known as J'Amore and Mr. J, per E! News—announced that his 2-year-old daughter, Sade Rose, died after wandering into a home swimming pool and drowning, according to a GoFundMe message he posted and later removed. "She thought she was a big girl and could swim all by herself," he wrote on the fundraising page, which had pulled in more than $4,000 before it was taken down, per Us Weekly.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office confirmed that deputies responded on Sunday to a home in Hoschton, where a death there appeared "to be accidental in nature," per NBC. Morton, who has more than a million followers on TikTok and millions more on Instagram and Facebook, shared a TikTok tribute showing Sade smiling over a Peppa Pig-themed birthday cake, with "RIP" written over the video, before taking it down.
Morton's management team said on Facebook that he's stepping away from social media while his family grieves and that they'll handle his accounts. In the now-deleted fundraiser, Morton wrote that the family plans to move, saying they can't remain in the home where the drowning occurred. "You were the best daughter a father could ever ask for," he wrote on social media before his management team took over. "Losing a child is a pain I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy."
