Killing time between flights paid off in a big way for one Las Vegas traveler. Harry Reid International Airport announced that a passenger, identified only as "Anthony," hit a jackpot of more than $3.3 million on a Wheel of Fortune-themed slot machine on Sunday while passing through the C Gates area, reports the Guardian. The company behind the machine, International Game Technology, says the man scored his win on a $10 spin of its Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Triple Red Hot 7s game.
Federal law will skim 24% for taxes on gambling hauls over $5,000, per IRS rules, but Nevada doesn't tax lottery wins or personal income, per the Guardian. "Now that's one way to spend a layover," the airport's X account noted. Las Vegas Locally posted a pic of the lucky winner, along with the caption: "In related news, we think Anthony might be our long-lost uncle." The airport has seen a run of jackpots lately: A traveler won $1.8 million on a similar machine in May 2025, while another turned a $1.25 bet into nearly $350,000 in September.
