Gunfire erupted at a crowded food festival in Seattle on Sunday evening, leaving three people dead and four injured, including a 2-year-old. Police say two people opened fire on each other around 6pm during Bite of Seattle, which drew an estimated 100,000 visitors a day to the Seattle Center over the weekend. Two victims died at the scene; a third died later at Harborview Medical Center, per KING5. The other victims include people treated at the scene, at Harborview, and at UW Medical Center. Harborview said its patients were shot in the arm, leg, and abdomen; one needed a "small child tourniquet" at the scene, per CNN.

One witness described hearing "at least two dozen shots," per CNN. Multiple agencies, including the FBI, ATF, and state SWAT, responded. Officials said one suspect—described only as a "young person"—is in custody and expected to appear in court Monday, while at least one other suspected shooter remains at large. Two guns were recovered. With no security cameras covering the shooting area, Seattle police are asking anyone with information to call their tip line at 206-233-5000. Mayor Katie Wilson said the community is "trying to understand how a gathering built around culture, connection, and joy ended in gunfire" and "an act of horrific violence."
