Mike Lindell Leaves MyPillow CEO Post to Focus on Campaign

Mike Lindell is exiting his post at MyPillow so he can put all his time into his bid for Minnesota governor, the Guardian reports. In a Tuesday social media announcement, Lindell said the company is stable without him and framed the move as prioritizing the state over his business interests. The Minnesota native has President Trump's backing and says he wants to upend the state's political status quo and tackle affordability issues. In addition to stepping down as CEO, he's reducing his ownership to a minority stake, MPR News reports.

Lindell's campaign is already facing legal friction. He's being sued by state senate hopeful Dan Fiskum, who alleges Lindell broke campaign finance rules by handing out branded pillows promoting his run. Lindell dismisses the case as a politically motivated "hit job," insisting he cleared the giveaways with regulators. There are also questions about his residency coming from his own party, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports. He has previously paid millions over defamation cases tied to his efforts to challenge the 2020 presidential election. Minnesota's primary is set for Aug. 11.
