Missing Teen Found Living at Her Teacher's Home: Cops
Jobe Binkley   (Clark County Jail)

Neighbors had heard rumors that police say turned out to be true: They found a missing teen living inside her former science teacher's home, People reports. Authorities in Springfield, Ohio, say 48-year-old former teacher Jobe Binkley is charged with interference with custody after officers allegedly discovered a 16-year-old runaway in his home—263 days after she was reported missing, Local 12 reports.

According to a criminal complaint, Binkley twice turned officers away during the search, allegedly denying the girl was there even after being told she was listed as missing. A US Marshals task-force officer says Binkley later admitted she was inside and called her out on Aug. 21, ABC 7 reports. The teen had reportedly fled a Columbus transitional living facility in December 2025. Binkley, previously fired by the Springfield City School District over policy violations, has pleaded not guilty and is free on bond, with a pretrial hearing set for Sept. 30.
