Ric Flair's latest health scare played out on a Tampa street on Friday morning. TMZ Sports reports that the 77-year-old wrestling icon left his drink and phone at the bar of a Wagamama eatery, walked outside, then suddenly collapsed, gashing his head and eye. Photos show first responders surrounding Flair before he was taken away by ambulance to a nearby hospital; TMZ notes he may have suffered a concussion.
The incident came just hours after Flair posted online that he was skipping a Seattle fan convention on doctors' orders due to a blood clot in his leg that makes long flights risky for him. Flair wrote that blood clots can be "extremely serious" and even life-threatening and referenced Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts' similar diagnosis. Flair said he's scheduled for a vein procedure; it's not yet known whether Friday's fall will delay it.
Flair's daughter Charlotte took to X on Friday night to offer an update on her dad, per Sports Illustrated. "Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of warrior dropping him on his head," she wrote in her tongue-in-cheek post, adding, "(ps: he's going to be ok)." Nacionale details some of Flair's other past medical history, including organ failure in 2017, heart surgery two years after that, an apparent 2022 heart attack, and skin cancer.
