People reports that Nick Reiner, who is jailed on charges he fatally stabbed his parents, can now receive "nominal" transfers of up to $300 at a time from the $1.5 million trust to buy basics from the jail commissary, according to a court order. In court on Friday, his lawyers said that a mediation involving all parties will be held in December to decide on access to the money, per the Guardian. The issue over whether California's Slayer Statute will block Reiner from accessing the trust has been debated in the case for months. His lawyers say some of the money was due to him before his parents' deaths and argue he has been unable to pay for both necessities and private counsel. Reiner has pleaded not guilty and is currently represented by a public defender. Access to larger amounts from the trust fund could bring back the high-profile lawyer, Alan Jackson, who started to represent Reiner but left when payment wasn't forthcoming, per the Washington Post. Reiner has been indicted on two counts of first-degree murder. Read These Next Judge tosses Trump's suit against Journal. Woman: 5 weeks after sex assault on flight, no word from United, FBI.
