(AP Photo/Ellen Schmidt) Nine months after their son was killed by federal agents in Minneapolis, the parents of VA nurse Alex Pretti say they're still in the dark, ABC News reports. Susan and Michael Pretti on Tuesday publicly pressed the Justice Department to release evidence and explain why no charges have been filed in the Jan. 24 shooting, saying they've received no information or support from Washington. "All we want is justice for Alex," his mother said. They say the Justice Department has not turned over evidence to state and local officials, accusing the feds of "shielding Alex's killers," the Washington Post reports. Eyewitness video reviewed by ABC shows Pretti appearing to film when a federal officer shoves a woman into him; the gun he legally owned and carried was taken after he was wrestled to the ground, before about 10 shots were fired. The Justice Department says it cannot comment during an active investigation, while Hennepin County's top prosecutor accuses federal officials of blocking access to evidence and is suing to obtain it. Minnesota's attorney general is also suing the DOJ, and says that while federal authorities initially agreed to share evidence, they have since stopped cooperating, CNN reports.
