Politics | Michele Bachmann Oops, Bachmann Fails History in New Hampshire She mixes up her Concords while citing Revolutionary War By John Johnson Posted Mar 12, 2011 2:23 PM CST Copied U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., arrives with her husband, Marcus, to a state GOP fundraiser in Nashua, NH. (AP Photo/Jim Cole) Michele Bachmann is making the rounds in New Hampshire today and said she'll probably decide in the summer whether she's running for president in 2012. But her first visit to the state didn't start well, notes Politico. "You're the state where the shot was heard around the world at Lexington and Concord," she said in a morning speech. "And you put a marker in the ground and paid with the blood of your ancestors." Problem is, that famous shot happened in Massachusetts. Writes Scott Conroy at Real Clear Politics: "Bachmann's contorting of a basic fact about the fight for American independence was made all the more glaring because of her repeated references throughout her speech to the nation's founding."
