Megan Thee Stallion's Broadway run hit an abrupt snag on Tuesday night when she fell ill mid-performance and was taken to a hospital. The rapper, 31, had been onstage in a few early scenes of Moulin Rouge! The Musical at New York's Al Hirschfeld Theatre when the show suddenly halted, according to audience member and entertainment reporter Loren LoRosa, per People. Staff reportedly asked the crowd to remain seated before an understudy stepped in to finish the performance.

A spokesperson said Megan "started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital," and that doctors are still assessing her condition. Her hairstylist posted on X from the hospital, asking fans to pray for her. Megan is in the middle of a limited eight-week stint as club owner Zidler, a run that began March 24 and is scheduled to run through May 17. The Hollywood Reporter notes it's the first time that a woman has performed that character's role on the Great White Way. Megan previously called the part "an absolute honor" and said she was eager to show fans "a new side" of herself. No update has been given on whether upcoming performances will be affected.
