A tech glitch turned into a cross-border singalong in Buffalo on Tuesday night. When anthem singer Cami Clune's mic died partway through "O Canada" before Game 5 of the Sabres–Bruins first-round playoff series, the crowd at KeyBank Center simply took over, belting out the rest of the Canadian anthem unaided, reports NHL.com. Clune was handed a working microphone in time for "The Star-Spangled Banner," which went off as planned. "Well that was interesting!!" Clune wrote on social media afterward. "Thank you all for singing along with me. We have the best fans ever!"

While US teams don't typically play Canada's anthem unless a Canadian club is involved, the New York Times notes that the Sabres do it at every home game, a nod to their arena's roughly five-mile distance from the border and a sizable Canadian fan base. Buffalo entered the night holding a 3-1 edge over Boston in the best-of-seven series, but lost the game 2-1 in overtime.
