A 20-year-old running back at a Missouri college died Saturday after a medical emergency on the sideline that halted the school's home football game. William Jewell College identified him as MicahJo Barnett, a junior business administration student, reports ABC News. The school did not release a cause of death.

William Jewell's vice president of athletics called Barnett "an exceptional young man" and asked for privacy for his family. Teammate Jayshawn Richmond, a defensive lineman at William Jewell, told KMBC that Barnett had just scored "right before his final moments." Barnett, he said, was "a hometown kid. ... Everybody looked up to him. He was a guy you go to whenever, you know what I'm saying?" A campus vigil was held Saturday night, with funeral details to be announced later.
