Authorities in the northern part of Texas say a grim mystery that stretched for years has finally come to a close. ABC News reports that human remains found this week at Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez's former home in Everman have been identified as those of the missing 6-year-old, more than three years after he vanished. Noel was last seen alive in the fall of 2022, around the time his twin sisters were born; police say he appeared sick and underweight at the time.
Police also say that around that time, Noel's mother, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, claimed her disabled son was "possessed" by a "demon," per People. During a 2023 welfare check, Rodriguez Singh allegedly claimed he was in Mexico with his biological father. Days later, she flew to India with her husband and six other children; Noel wasn't with them, and Rodriguez Singh hadn't applied for a passport for him. She was later charged with capital murder in Tarrant County and added to the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted" list before her 2025 arrest.
Declared incompetent to stand trial in April, Rodriguez Singh is now undergoing treatment at a state hospital, but Tarrant County's district attorney says experts believe she'll eventually face a jury. Details on how investigators finally located Noel's remains haven't been disclosed. Everman Police Chief Al Brooks had a message for Noel on Friday, per WFAA: "I would like to tell him: Rest well little man. We'll take it from here."
